Middle Caicos

, Also known as Grand Caicos Middle Caicos, is the largest island in the Caicos Islands and is part of the British overseas territory of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

The island is separated from the neighboring islands of North Caicos and East Caicos only by narrow inlets. The area of ​​Middle Caicos is 135.9 km ². In addition, extensive marshes and tidal flats on the south coast, so that the land area is considerably larger at low tide (total about 294 km ²). In contrast, the northern coast consists of limestone cliffs and long sandy beaches. On Middle Caicos is the largest cave in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Are located on the north coast of the villages Lorimer, Bambarra and the main town on the island of Conch Bar about 500 people live ( update 2008 Census 2002: 301 residents ).
