Midway is a city in Gadsden County in the U.S. state of Florida with 3,004 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Midway is located about 15 km southeast of Quincy and about 10 km northwest of Tallahassee.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 3,004 inhabitants distributed to 1,204 households. The population density was 303.4 inh. / Km ². 10.0 % of the population were white, 86.0 % African American, 0.2% Native American and 0.9 % Asian Americans. 1.7% were members of other ethnic groups and 1.2% in different ethnic groups. 3.8% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 11.5 % of all households lived in 45.9 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 73.4 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.79 and the average family size was 3.25 persons.

34.3% of the population were younger than 20 years, 33.2% were 20-39 years old, 23.9 % were 40-59 years old and 8.8 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 31 years. 45.3 % of the population were male and 54.7 % female.

The average annual income was $ 45,536, while 19.8 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 100 % of the population.

Midway is crossed by Interstate 10 and U.S. Highway 90 (SR 10). The nearest airport is Tallahassee Regional Airport ( around 15 km south-east ).
