Mikhail Biryukov (ice hockey)

Mikhail Biryukov Olegovich (Russian: Михаил Олегович Бирюков; born October 13, 1985 in Yaroslavl, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian professional ice hockey goaltender, who plays for HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk in the Kontinental Hockey League since 2010.

Career

Mikhail Biryukov began his career in 2001 with the second team of Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the third Russian league. After further stops in the lower Russian leagues, he was obliged by the Russian first division club HK MVD Balaschicha 2007. On his next HK Dynamo Moscow Biryukov was under contract since 2009. In 2010 he moved within the KHL to HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk.

Internationally

Biryukov played with the Russian national team at the World Championships in 2008 and became world champion, where he completed three games.
