Mikhail Grigorenko

Mikhail Grigorenko Olegovich (Russian: Михаил Олегович Григоренко, English transcription: Mikhail Grigorenko Olegovich; born 16 May 1994, Khabarovsk ) is a Russian ice hockey player who plays since August 2011 in the Quebec Remparts in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League on the position of the center.

Career

Grigorenko comes from the elite of the army HK clubs CSKA Moscow. There he played in the 2010/11 season at the age of 16 years for the junior team Krasnaya Armia Moscow in the Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja league. In 43 games he came up with 35 points scorer. As the youngest player of the team he finished ninth in the main round of the internal team scorer standings. Another five points allowed the Centre to follow in ten play-off games that were crowned by winning the Kharlamov Cup. The talent of the attacker had not gone unnoticed by the Scouts of the Canadian Hockey League and the Quebec Remparts so chose him in June 2011 in the first round of the CHL Import Draft 2011 second overall position and just behind the Finn Olli Määttä from. Internationally

Grigorenko represented his home country Russia at the World U -17 Hockey Challenge, 2010 World Junior A Challenge 2010 U18 World Junior Championship in 2011 and U-20 World Youth Championship in 2012.

In the World U -17 Hockey Challenge in 2010 while the Russians lost in the bronze medal match against Sweden and finished the tournament in fourth place. Grigorenko scored ten points scorer and was behind Alexander Chochlatschow second highest points scorer of the Russian team and third best of the entire tournament. The World Junior A Challenge in November 2010, the Russians finished in sixth place, with Grigorenko was a six-point second- best scorer of the team behind Nikita Kucherov. A year later Grigorenko formed at the U18 World Youth Championship 2011, a storm series with Nail Jakupow and Nikita Kucherov again. The center was 18 scorer points, including the Turnierbestwert of 14 Assists, instrumental in the bronze medal winning the Russians. His strike partner Kucherov and Jakupow came on 21 and 13 points scorer. In the U20 Junior World Championship 2012 he added a silver medal to his collection.
