Minden (Queensland)

Minden Village is a small village in the south-east Queensland with about 737 inhabitants. It is located about 60 km west of the capital Brisbane queensländischen immediately adjacent to the Warrego Highway towards Toowoomba.

It is named after the German town of Minden Minden probably in the 1870s, when there settled numerous German immigrants.

Near the settlement queensländischen Minden are among others the settlements Marburg, Prenzlau and Haigslea that once Kirchheim said.

Minden has since 1878 a school which was initially attended by 19 students.

Apart from Minden has remained a rural, agricultural center. Today, however, many of its residents commute to work in the nearer cities such as Ipswich and Brisbane.

In the surroundings of the Warrego valley, today it grows, it is likely to be one of the tropics next wine regions in the world.
