Miner 2049er is a home computer game by the American Bill Hogue and was published in 1982 by the company Big Five Software.

History

Under the company name Big Five Software Bill Hogue began in the late 70s commercial computer games for the Radio Shack TRS -80 computer to write and distribute. He developed for this computer quite a few games which emulated at the arcade games of the time: Supernova ( Asteroids ) Attack Force ( Targ ), Cosmic Fighter ( Astro Fighter ), Galaxy Invasion ( Galaxian ), Meteor Mission II ( Lunar Rescue), Robot Attack ( Berzerk ) and Defense Command ( Missile Command ).

In 1982, as the popularity of the TRS -80, with its low -resolution monochrome screen, decreased, Hogue wrote his next game Miner 2049er for the Atari 800 Due to its popularity was followed by ports to various computer platforms (Apple II, Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Commodore 64, ColecoVision, TI-99/4A, VIC-20 ).

The aim of the game is with the main character "Bounty Bob" by running a scaffold ( the structure is comparable to the scaffolds of classic jump and run platform games such as Donkey Kong) is this completely colorize. This game reached but nowhere near the rate of dissemination as its predecessor. With Miner 2049er Again a remake for Windows for free download (Freeware ) has been released.
