Ministry of Religious Services
The Ministry for services of worship (Hebrew המשרד לשירותי דת ) ( HaMisrad leSherutay Dat ) (formerly Ministry of Religious Affairs and Ministry of worship ) is an Israeli Ministry. The Ministry appoints religious councils and stands up for shortfalls in the amount of up to 40% of the approved budget for religious services and equipment, and it ensures the financial support for Jeschivas. It is responsible for the planning and financing of synagogues and mikvaot and the supervisory authority of the Jewish holy places. In addition, the organization of the Torah teaching, public religious celebrations fall, the certificate of ritual safety ( kashrut ) in public institutions and bodies of the government and the religious contacts with Jews in the Diaspora in its jurisdiction.
