Minskoff Theatre
It is located on the third floor of One Astor Plaza at 1515 Broadway. The theater was designed by architects Kahn and Jacobs and opened in 1973. In the theater there are 1,621 seats for visitors. Owner of the theater is the Nederlander Organization. The theater is named after Sam Minskoff and Sons, the owners of the skyscraper. 1981 took place in the theater instead of the Miss Universe, which was won by Irene Saez of Venezuela. A great success of the theater was the production of Sunset Boulevard from the year 1994. The awarding of the Tony Awards took place in the years 1986, 1988, 1991 and 1995, rather than in the theater.
