Miss Firecracker

Miss Firecracker is an American comedy film from the year 1989. Directed by Thomas Schlamme, the screenplay was written by Beth Henley on the basis of one's own stage play The Miss Firecracker Contest in the year 1984.

Action

Carnelle Scott lives in a small town in Mississippi and is frustrated. She logs on to a local beauty contest, which takes place annually on July 4th. Her cousin Elain Rutledge won a few years before the title of Miss Firecracker and moved to Atlanta, where she married. Scott hopes that they can leave the city after the victory.
