Modou Sougou

Pape Amodou Sougou or short Modou Sougou ( born December 18, 1984 in Fissel, Thies ) is a Senegalese football player. The striker is since January 2013 the French first division club Olympique Marseille under contract, but is currently on loan at Premier League rivals FC Evian Thonon Gaillard.

Career

Association

Sougou came in 2004 to União Leiria in the Portuguese Primeira Liga. In his first season he was only a few stakes and moved a year later to league rivals Vitória Setúbal. There he became a regular player and won with his team the Cup final in 2005 against Benfica. Then he returned to Leiria, where he was in 2005/ 06 an integral part of the team in the first round. The 2006/07 season the club finished in last place and were relegated. He moved to league rival Académica Coimbra. After three years in Coimbra left Sougou Portugal and hired the Romanian first division side CFR Cluj. There he contributed ten goals in the winning the championship in 2012. End in January 2013 moved to the French first division club Olympique Marseille Sougou. He signed a contract until the end of June 2016.

In August 2013 Sougou was borrowed for the 2013/14 season to FC Evian Thonon Gaillard.

National

Sougou played eleven games for the Senegal national team. He was in the squad for the African Cup of Nations in 2008 and came to two short sessions.
