Monowi is a municipality in Boyd County in the U.S. state of Nebraska. What makes the small town is that it counts only one inhabitant per 2010 census, which also holds the Mayor's Office.

1930, the village still 150 inhabitants. After the railroad withdrew from the place, the inhabitants left also gradually the village. Was it in 1940 for 99 residents, the number fell to count in 2000 to 2 in 2010 and finally to a population. Monowi has a library Rudy 's Library with 5,000 books and a guest operating Monowi Tavern, which in turn are operated by the single inhabitant.
