The Jupiter is a ship of the Vietnamese Jupiter Cruises.

History

The ship was built in 1974 as a ferry. The launch took place on 15 September. On 9 July 1975, the ship to Finland Steamship in Helsinki was delivered and baptized on July 17. Subsequently, it was used until 1981 between Helsinki and Stockholm.

In April 1981, the ship was sold to DFDS and deployed starting in June of the year as Dana Gloria between Esbjerg and Newcastle and between Gothenburg and Newcastle.

1984 to 1985 the ship sailed as Svea Corona for Silja Line between Stockholm, Mariehamn and Turku. End of May 1985, was reinstated in Dana Gloria changed back and between Copenhagen and Oslo.

The end of 1988 the ship at the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg was extended by about 22 meters. Then it came as King of Scandinavia back on track and was reinstated between Copenhagen and Oslo, and later between Copenhagen, Helsingborg and Oslo.

In 1994 the ship was bought by Color Line and Color as Viking on the route Bergen - used Newcastle - Haugesund - Stavanger. In 1998, the route and the ship was sold to Fjord Line. The renamed in Jupiter ferry operated the route until 2004, until it was replaced by the larger Fjord Norway. Between February 2006 and February 2007, the Jupiter of Statoil was used as an accommodation ship near Hammerfest. In 2007, the ship was sold to the Royal Group to Hong Kong and used since 2008 for cruises in Asia.

Sister ships

The Jupiter had two sister ships, the 2013 scrapped at Alang Bore Star, and the 1995 scrapped in Aliaga Svea Corona.
