In January 1991, the ship of Baltic Shipping Company was chartered and should be used under the name of Baltica between St. Petersburg (Leningrad) and Stockholm. However, this could not be realized, and so the ship was temporarily laid up in Hamburg. In the same month, the ship was chartered by the Russian army in order to transport troops from the former GDR. The renamed Anna Karenina ship was severely devastated by the Russian troops and had to be repaired in Hamburg. The ship was renamed Anna K., returned to Fred. Olsen Line back, was launched in Germany and sold in 1996 to Estline. Renamed in Regina Baltica was used between Stockholm and Tallinn. The end of 2000 was Estline part of Tallink. In spring 2005, the ship was chartered by NATO for training purposes before Norway. On 27 September 2005, the ship ran aground in Swedish waters near Kapellskar due, but came under its own power again. In May 2006, the ship on this route was replaced by the Romantica and used on the Stockkholm -Riga route as the successor of Fantaasia and turn in April 2009 by the Romantica. The Regina Baltica was chartered by Acciona Trasmediterránea and used from 15 June 2009, between Almeria and Nador. On September 20, 2009, she came back to Tallink and was opened in Riga. End of May 2010, she was chartered again by Acciona Trasmediterránea. She used the line Almeria - Nador and was used from June to September 3, between Algeciras and Tangier.

On 11 September 2010, the ship arrived in the Faroe Islands to replace the soft smyril between Tvøroyri and Tórshavn during a shipyard stay. As of 15 October, the smyril again took over this route. From June to September 2011 drove the Regina Baltica in the Mediterranean on the route Almeria ( Spain) - Nador ( Morocco).
