Murray McEachern

Murray McEachern ( born August 16, 1915 in Toronto, † April 28, 1982 in Malibu, California ) was a Canadian jazz trombonist and alto saxophonist.

Life and work

As a child, studied McEachern first violin at the Toronto Conservatory of Music; twelve, he had a first concert appearance as a soloist in the Massey Hall. As a teenager he learned the saxophone and clarinet, played with Lucio Agostini and performed at the transmitter CRBC with Percy Faith. Later, other instruments such as trumpet, bass and trumpet were added.

In 1936 he moved to Chicago, where he trombonist Benny Goodman's big band was soon. He also worked in the Jack Hylton Orchestra and then as a saxophonist and trombonist with the Casa Loma Orchestra, which was conducted from 1937 to 1941 by Glen Gray. 1941 McEachern moved to the Paul Whiteman Orchestra; shortly thereafter, he worked as a musician in the entertainment troops during the Second World War. In 1947, he worked in the orchestra Phil Moore.

His further career he continued in the Hollywood film studios, as a soloist, he was in movies such as The Glenn Miller Story, Paris Blues and The Benny Goodman Story. to hear.
