Muttiah Muralitharan

Muttiah Muralitharan ( born April 17, 1972 in Kandy, Sri Lanka) (nicknamed Murali ) is a cricketer from Sri Lanka. He is considered one of the best spin bowler in the history of cricket. He was voted one of the five Wisden Cricketers of the Year in 1999. A jury of Wisden Cricketers ' Almanack also elected him the best bowler in the history of Test Cricket. He says that he prefers the spelling Muthiah Muralidaran.

Muttiah Muralitharan played in his Test match career 133 tests for Sri Lanka, where he scored a total of 800 wickets. No other bowler has more Test wickets achieved or reached the mark of 800 Test wickets. He is statistically the most successful bowler in the history of Test Cricket. His Test debut Muttiah Muralitharan in August 1992 in Colombo against Australia. In his Test career, he has twice broken the record for the most wickets achieved. The first time he broke the record, previously Courtney Walsh has kept up with 519 wickets, in May 2004. The second time he took the record which was temporarily held by Shane Warne, in 2007 against England.

Muttiah Muralitharan played in his career, 350 One- Day International matches where he scored a total of 534 wickets. He is the record holder for the number of wickets were also achieved in One-Day Internationals. The previously held by Wasim Akram record he surpassed in 2009. Muralitharan took five Cricket World Cups ( 1996, 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2011 ) in part. In 1996, he was the Cricket World Cup win with the team of Sri Lanka.

On July 22, 2010, he ended his Test cricket career and after the World Cup in 2011 his international career.
