Nadezhda Neynsky

Nadezhda Nikolwa Nejnski ( born Mikhailova; Bulgarian Надежда Николова Нейнски ( Михайлова ); common, English transcription Nadezhda Nikolva Neynsky; born August 9, 1962 in Sofia) is a Bulgarian politician who belongs to the Blue Coalition. She started her political career in the liberal-conservative radical Democratic Party of Bulgaria.

She was Bulgarian Foreign Minister in the government of Ivan Kostov zwischen 1997 through 2001. Between 2002 and 2005 she was leader of the Union of Democratic Forces (SDS ).

In the European elections in Bulgaria 2009 she was the top candidate of the Blue Coalition and was elected as an MP in the European Parliament.

In May 2012, she founded together with the Austrian MEP Paul Rübig and Danish MPs Bendt Bendtsen the European middle class and economic unification of the European People's Party, SME Europe.
