Nagorny, Sakha Republic

Nagorny (Russian Нагорный; Yakut Нагорнай ) is an urban-type settlement in the Republic of Sakha ( Yakutia) in Russia with a population of 68 (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The village is located about 730 km as the crow south-southwest of the capital of Republic of Yakutsk on the northern edge of the Stanowoihochlands, just 10 km from the main ridge of the mountain range, the border of the Amur Oblast away. It is located on the right bank of the Aldan Creek Timpton.

Nagorno part of the Ulus Nerjungrinski and is located approximately 80 km south of the administrative center Nerjungri. The settlement is part of the municipality ( gorodskoje posselenije ) Possjolok solo Tinka and is located about 30 km south of the center of Solo Tinka.

History

The settlement was founded in the 1920s, the construction of the road from the Trans-Siberian Railway in the Aldangebiet and continue towards Yakutsk. The name refers to the high position in Stanowoihochland, Russian Stanowoje nagorje. In 1927, Nagorno administrative headquarters since 1926 Timptonski ulus ( 1930 Rajon ). Until the 1940s, the settlement remained largest town in the south of Yakutia. 1941, the status of an urban-type settlement was awarded in 1943 but postponed the Rajonverwaltungssitz in the more central Tschulman.

Mid -1970s witnessed the settlement during the construction of the "Little BAM " Bamowskaja - Tynda - Nerjungri a temporary boost when at the train station about 5 km south-east of the original village created temporary shelters for thousands of construction workers. With completion of the railway and the absence of further economic development, most residents left in the 1980s to 1990s the place. The remaining inhabitants live mainly in the "old " district. It is planned to completely abandon the settlement.

Traffic

The original settlement Nagorny is located on the A360 trunk road Lena (previously M56, number or alternatively in use until 2017 ), combines the Newer at the Amur highway with Nizhny Bestjach near the Yakut capital Yakutsk. At the village the road crosses the Timpton.

Less than 5 km south-east is located at kilometer 330 ( from Skovorodino ) the station Nagornaya - Jakutskaja the Amur - Yakutian Railway Mainline ( Ajam ), which also results from the Trans-Siberian Railway and the Baikal- Amur Mainline (BAM ) to Nizhny Bestjach.
