Nate Reinking

Nathan " Nate " Reinking ( born December 12, 1973 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio ) is a former basketball player, a native of the United States. After graduation, he played in the British Basketball League and acquired by marriage to an Englishwoman British citizenship. For his new homeland, he then ran as international. His playing career is closely linked with that of the British national team coach Chris Finch, who coached him at club level with the Sharks from Sheffield and at the Belgian club Euphony Bree and Dexia Mons- Hainaut. At the end of his career, his goal was to participate in the 2012 Olympic Games in London with the British National Team, which is why he extended his active career until the age of almost 39 years.

Career

College in Ohio (1992 to 1996)

Reinking was formed in 1992 in his home state to study at Kent State University, where he was active for the high school team, the Golden Flashes. The Golden Flashes had no success in basketball and reached under coach Dave Grube 1992-1996 only negative balance sheets, while its predecessor had nevertheless still achieved invitations to the NIT. British Basketball League ( 1996-2005 )

Despite a few promising college career, Reinking tried as a professional in 1996 and got a contract in the British Basketball League in a country which, however, also has little tradition in basketball and was able to exit success in Europe. After two seasons with the Riders from Leicester, where in 1998 it reached the cup final of the British League, he played in the 1998/99 season at the "Storm" from Derby. For the following season coach Chris Finch took him to Sheffield to the Sharks. In the first season 1999/2000 they won the trophy for the British League. In the championship was achieved from 2000 to 2003 in each of the first and second place in the Northern Conference of the British League, but moved only in 2001 and 2002 in the final series of play-offs. Belgian League (2005 to 2010)

Finch became Belgian champion in 2005 with Euphony Bree and pulled alongside Julius Jenkins also Reinking in his team. However, in the following season the title could not defend you. Reinking was shared top scorer with 13 points of his team in this game, even though he had only a shortened operating time of 23 minutes after five fouls. Coach Finch then moved to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the NBA Development League, while Reinking completed another season at Dexia, but in the celebrated no appreciable success.

End of career in the British League (2010 to 2012)

2010 Reinking returned to the British League, after he had decided to continue his career in light of the upcoming Olympic Games. He signed a contract with the Master of Everton Tigers, who had renamed " Mersey Tigers". Together with Andrew Sullivan could under coach Tony Garbelotto defend the Cup and the BBL Trophy win for the first time. In the season 2011/12 Reinking returned to his former club Sharks back to Sheffield. In the play-offs in 2012 would retire already out in the first round.
