Near-open central vowel
An almost open central vowel is a vowel that occurs in various languages. The International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA ) using the symbol ɐ for this sound. In technical jargon, this vowel is also referred to as Tiefschwa, a- schwa or schwa teacher.

Use in the German
In German, there is no special character for this also vocalized / ʁ / called vowel. But sometimes it is a word that ends with an unstressed syllable -er, pronounced with an almost open central vowel. Examples: knife, bitter.
