The Route 16 in New Brunswick, Canada, part of the Trans - Canada Highway system. The highway begins at Au Lac on Route 2, it runs along the eastern border province of Nova Scotia and ends in the middle of the Confederation Bridge on the border of Prince Edward Iceland.

Route

Approx. 2 km before the Route 2 ends at the border of Nova Scotia, branches from these Route 16 northbound from. This runs parallel to the provincial border with several smaller places. At Baie Verte, the route reaches the Atlantic coast on the bay. The route now runs along the coast, in Port Elgin branches off in a westerly direction from Route 15 to Moncton. At Bayfield the highway runs through the Cape Jouriman National Wildlife Area, which is upstream of the Confederation Bridge. The highway leads now to the toll bridge that leads with a length of almost 13 km along the Northumberland Strait. The route ends at the provincial border and is continued as Prince Edward Iceland Route 1.
