Newin Chidchob

Newin Chidchob ( Thai: เน วิน ชิด ชอบ, RTGS: Chitchop, pronunciation: [ ne ː win t͡ɕ ítt͡ɕ ʰ ʰ ɔ ː p]; born October 4, 1958 in Buriram ) is a Thai politician. He was an important representative of the Thai Rak Thai Party of Thaksin Shinawatra and 2005-2006 Minister at the Office of the Prime Minister. After the fall of Thaksin and the dissolution of TRT Newin was charged with a five-year exclusion from political office, yet he continues significant influence on Thai politics. Life and work

Newins home province of Buriram is located in the south of the Isan region, on the border with Cambodia. His family is from the Khmer people. Newins male ancestors were elephant driver ( mahout ).
