Nickelodeon (Switzerland)

Nickelodeon Switzerland is the German -speaking Swiss branch of the U.S. cable network Nickelodeon. The specialty channel of the media group Viacom is aimed at children and young people.

The station was launched on 1 April 2009 under the name Nick Switzerland on the previously used exclusively by VIVA Switzerland channel, which was henceforth shared. To this end, the transmission time of VIVA has been greatly reduced to bis 05:00 clock clock last 20:15. The program corresponds largely to that since the start of the German sister station; according to the European-wide harmonization of Viacom brands to the U.S. originals, also took over the Swiss arm of 1 April 2010 the full name Nickelodeon.

The structure of the spread in Switzerland Viacom transmitter was changed once again as of May 16, 2011. Nickelodeon Switzerland the newly localized transmitter Comedy Central Switzerland was thereby placed on the page, which took over the existing transmission time of VIVA Switzerland ( 20:15 to 05:00 ) on the shared channel. With this change, the division channel Nickelodeon / Comedy Central is equivalent to that in the rest of Europe; the channel VIVA Switzerland was therefore set in fact and in digital cable networks replaced by VIVA Germany.

Prior to channelization with VIVA Switzerland, already divided Nick Germany ( with Swiss advertising windows ) the channel with MTV Switzerland.

Program

Nickelodeon Switzerland shows the same series such as Nickelodeon Germany, including the famous Nicktoons ( SpongeBob SquarePants and Jimmy Neutron ), but also TeenNick series like iCarly or Zoey 101 In the advertising block predominantly Swiss Clips are shown.
