Nicolás Gaitán
Osvaldo Nicolás Fabián Gaitán ( born February 23, 1988 in San Martín, Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine football player. He is currently under contract at Benfica and plays preferred in the midfield.
Career
In the club
Gaitán comes from the youth of the CA Boca Juniors, whom he had left in 2007. From then on he played for the second team of the Argentine clubs. Again, after a year, he joined the first professional squad of 23- times Argentine champion. His debut denied the Argentine on 2 June 2008 against Arsenal de Sarandi, which was won 3-1. His first goal in La Liga, he scored the game against CA Huracán, which was won 3-0. In the game, he scored two of the three hits.
For the 2010/11 season Gaitán moved for an estimated 8.4 million euros for Portuguese giants Benfica, making it by Óscar Cardozo ( 11.6 million euros ) is the second most expensive purchase of the story for the 32 -time Portuguese champions.
In the National Team
Gaitan debuted not in a youth selection for his country, but the same for the A- team when Argentina defeated Ghana in the form of a friendly game on September 30, 2009, 2-0.
