Nok Air

Nok Air is a Thai low-cost airline based in Bangkok and base at the airport Bangkok - Don Mueang.

History

Nok Air was on February 10, 2004 by Sky Asia Co., Ltd.. founded. On January 16, 2006 Sky Asia was in Nok Airlines Co., Ltd.. renamed. The airline is a holding company with both public and private investors. The largest shareholder is Thai Airways International with 49% share. Other shareholders are Nok Air Management Company Limited ( 25%), Crown Property Bureau CPB Equity Company Limited ( 6%), The Siam Commercial Bank Public Company Limited ( 5%), King Power International Company Limited (5% ) and other investors ( 10%).

Nok means bird in Thai and embodies friendship and the freedom to travel. The color of Nok Air embodies the warmth and friendliness of the Thai culture. The planes carry different, colorful paint, each representing a bird.

Nok Air offers flights to within Thailand and Myanmar, are served in Thailand Bangkok - Don Mueang, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Buriram, Hat Yai, Mae Sot, Nakhon Phanom, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Pai, Phuket, Trang, Udon Thani, Phitsanulok, Sakon Nakhon, Nan, Khon Kaen, Surat Thani, Phrae, Roi Et and Loei and in Myanmar Yangon.

Fleet

As of October 2013, the fleet of Nok Air consists of 16 aircraft:

  • 02 ATR 72-500 ( leased from Thai Airways )
  • 01 Boeing 737-400
  • 13 Boeing 737-800

Other smaller aircraft operated by Siam General Aviation for Nok Air on regional flights under the brand Nok Mini.
