Norm Dupont

Normand Dupont ( born February 5, 1957 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player ( left wing ), who from 1979 to 1993 for the Montreal Canadiens, Winnipeg Jets and Hartford Whalers in the National Hockey League, as well as for the EHC Biel and HC Ajoie played in the Swiss National League A.

Career

As a junior he played in his hometown at the Bleu - Blanc- Rouge de Montréal and the Junior de Montréal in the LHJMQ. In the NHL Amateur Draft 1977, the Canadiens de Montréal brought him in the first round as the 18th In the World Hockey Association, he was drafted. Here secured in the fourth round as the Birmingham Bulls 31, the rights to him.

At first, he played in the farm teams of the Canadiens at the Nova Scotia Voyageurs in the AHL. His NHL debut came in Montreal in the season 1979 /80. It was followed by three years at the Winnipeg Jets with a short detour to the AHL farm team, the Sherbrooke Jets. His last season in the NHL, he played 1983/84 with the Hartford Whalers. Again, he had phased in the AHL to the Binghamton Whalers.

In 1984 he moved to Switzerland and played for EHC Biel and from 1991 for the HC Ajoie in the NLA.
