Objection ( Tango) and Te Aviso, Te Anuncio ( Tango) ( engl: I Warning You, I Announce to You ) are Latin Pop-Latin-Rock/Tango-Lieder, written and produced by the Colombian singer Shakira. They appeared on their 2001 breakthrough album Laundry Service.

Background and structure

Objection was the first song that Shakira wrote entirely in English. Te Aviso, Te Anuncio Shakira sang again in Spanish. Both songs have the same rhythm, which is sampled by the Uruguayan - Argentine Tango La Cumparsita.

Instruments

The song is orchestrated by traditional tango instruments, as with La Cumparsita, among other things, a piano, a double bass and a bandoneon. Later, the song gets through Drums Latin - rock influences, there including two electric guitars and a bass can be used. The bandoneon is then replaced by an accordion. In the music video Shakira plays an electric guitar.

Music Video

At the beginning of the music video Shakira dancing with her ex- lover tango, then goes to her lover, the music starts and Shakira begins to dance. Shakira goes into a club where she finds her ex-lover back, there he is with his new girlfriend, played by Tabitha Taylor.

Success

The English version of the song peaked in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 55th place, but was unable to repeat the success of Shakira's previous top- ten hits Whenever, Wherever and Underneath Your Clothes Objection. In Europe and the Oceanic countries, but the song became a success, reaching the top ten in many countries. The Spanish version of the song was a big hit for Shakira in the Spanish- speaking world again.
