Oceansize was founded in 1998, English rock band from Manchester.

Band History

The members met while studying at the Academy of Music in Manchester. The band originally consisted of Mike Vennart (vocals, guitar ), Steve Durose (guitar, vocals), Gambler ( guitar), Jon Ellis (bass ) and Mark Heron (drums). The music can be settled in the alternative area, with a lot of progressive influences are to hear. The bassist Jon Ellis left the band in December 2005 after completing a European tour for personal reasons. He was replaced by Steve Hodson. The is called " syndromes " and does this so that equal Gambler, who actually Richard A. Ingram called.

Oceansize already toured with The Cooper Temple Clause, Cave In, People In Planes, Aereogramme, Biffy Clyro, and Porcupine Tree Pure Reason Revolution. Following the release of their second album in September 2005 they tour still almost continuously. On 28 September 2007 the third studio album was released called " frame" on Superball Music.

Among her most important musical influences include Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Can, Cardiacs, Jane 's Addiction, (early ) The Verve, Swervedriver, The Beach Boys, Nine Inch Nails, Gong, Heavy Vegetable, Silo, Biffy Clyro, Tool, Tortoise, Mogwai and My Bloody Valentine.

Oceansize combines a friendship with the originating also from Manchester band Amplifier, a greater number of joint concerts it has been played. On 25 February 2011, the band announced their dissolution.
