The station Offenbach- Bieber is a separation station in the Hessian town of Offenbach am Main, Bieber district. Today he serves exclusively the S -Bahn.

History

The Bieberer station was opened on 30 October 1896 as a railway station of Rodgaubahn ( railway Offenbach- clean home ). On the Rodgaubahn has been operating since 2003, the S -Bahn line S1 S-Bahn Rhein -Main, but not to clean home, but only up Rödermark-Ober -Roden, where connection is made to the Opened in 1905, Dreieich train to Dieburg. Between Dieburg and clean home the railway line has been removed.

On 1 December 1898, the railway line Offenbach- Bieber - Dietz Bach was opened as a branch line of the Rodgaubahn. As of 18 June 1982, passenger services were set on the track ( provisional). The timetable change 2003/2004 on 14 December 2003, the S-Bahn operations began and the route part of the S -Bahn line S2 (low Hausen- Dietz Bach ) of the S -Bahn Rhein- Main.

Following the expansion of the S-Bahn train station experienced track schedule changes; so the lines were double-tracked and electrified. The additions to the station were designed to be barrier -free. The railroad crossing in the course of Dietesheimer road was eliminated and replaced by an underpass.

Reception building

The Grade II listed station building from 1896, is a cultural monument under the Hessian Monument Protection Act. The two-story brick building is located since December 30, 2009 after disputes over the monument status in private ownership.

Infrastructure

The station has two tracks with external platforms. The routes to Ober-Roden and Dietzenbach south branch at the same height of the station. The mechanical signal box was taken out of service in 2000.

Operation

The station now serves exclusively the S-Bahn lines S1 and S2. This drive to Wiesbaden Hauptbahnhof or Niedernhausen via Frankfurt Central Station. In the opposite direction reverses the S1 Obertshausen and Rodgau to Ober- Roden and S2 according to Dietz Bach Heusenstamm.

All S - Bahn trains in a base clock of 30 minutes. At rush hour this basic clock is compressed to a 15 -minute intervals, with the S1 isolated only to Frankfurt-Höchst and high home runs.

Bus

The Bieberer station is serviced by buses of the regional traffic Hesse-Cassel GmbH and Offenbacher Transport Authority ( accurate under transport in Offenbach am Main).
