Okoły

Tauenzinow, Polish Okoły, is a town in Upper Silesia. Tauenzinow located in the municipality Murow in powiat Opolski in Polish Opole Voivodeship.

Tauenzinow located 23 kilometers north of the county town of Opole and voivodship.

History

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 216 voters voted to remain in Germany and four in Poland. Tauenzinow remained with the German Reich. 1933 lived 268 inhabitants in the village. On 19 May 1936, the place was in Tauentzien O.S. renamed. 1939, the place had 258 inhabitants. By 1945, the place was in the district of Opole.

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration, was renamed Okoły and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. 1950 Okoły part of the Opole Voivodeship and 1999 of the re-established powiat Opolski. In March 2009, the City also received the official German place names Tauenzinow.
