Oleksandr Ponomaryov

Olexandr Ponomariov (Ukrainian Олександр Пономарьов; born August 9, 1973 in Khmelnytskyi, Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian singer.

Career

An early passions of Oleksandrs was boxing. However, his eyesight began to deteriorate early and his doctor forbade him to fight.

Oleksandr obeyed this medical advice and was looking for an alternative career. Although he has always had fun singing had, but he never thought that the music could be his main occupation. Since he could not read music, he first had to attend a music school. Due to its exceptional vocal talent, he was awarded a scholarship after a short time, through which he was able to finance his studies.

Oleksandr has participated in dozens of Ukrainian and international festivals since 1992. In 1998 he was awarded by the Ukrainian Government the title " Honored Artist of Ukraine". Overall, he was seven Ukrainian " Singer of the Year".

In 2003, Oleksandr part with the song " Hasta la Vista " for Ukraine at the Euro Vision Song Contest. With 30 points, he is number one 14th place.
