Olešnice (České Budějovice District)

Olešnice ( German Elexnitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers east of Trhové Sviny creek between the rivers of Stropnice and Žárský.

South-west of the town is the 579 m high Dubi and in the northeast extends along the Stropnice an extensive pond landscape. Olešnice part of the euro region Silva Nortica and the micro-region Sdužení to růže.

History

The first written mention of Olešnice dates back to 1186th The city was a fortified seat of power, which was owned by the family of Koňatov Olešnice in the 14th and 15th centuries. Next reason was Mr. Zikmund Chebar of Mirošovice, from the 1499 Mr Kraiger of Kraigk followed.

Next Men on Olešnice were the Pouzar of Michnice who had gained possession of Wolf Kraiger of Kraigk. Albrecht Pouzar of Michnice was expropriated after the Battle of White Mountain. 1623 the Council of the city of Budweis acquired the village of the Gerhard verkauftet it 1628 Straten. In the period 1680-1717 the place to Counts Buquoyschen rule Gratzen was duly. From the next owner, Johann Adam Hunger, citizens of Budweis, acquired it in 1727 once again the town of Ceske Budejovice. Until the replacement of the basic rule in 1850 Elexnitz remained Budweiser possession, and has since formed a separate municipality. 1986 Buková was incorporated.

Attractions

  • The St. Wenceslas church was built from 1786 to 1787. By 1857 she was a filial church of Schweinitz and was then elevated to parish church.
  • The lock has a Gothic stone portal, and was originally a fortified manor in which the Pouzar of Michnic Renaissance chateau could remodel a brewery in the 16th century. From 1787 it served as a school building.
  • The Chapel of the Holy Family in Lhotka was built in 1815.
  • The site of Buková is dominated by the large, built in 1900 school building.
