Ondřej Starosta

Ondřej Starosta ( born May 28, 1979 in Prague) is a Czech professional basketball player. As a young player Starosta 2000 was included in the reserve team of top European clubs Real Madrid and was allowed to try in the preseason at the NBA club the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2006. Ultimately, however, it was denied the whole big breakthrough. After his attempt to gain a foothold in the NBA, playing for clubs in Spanish second division LEB Oro. In the 2012/13 season where he became the "Most Valuable Player " (MVP) of the season.

Career

Starosta played to 2000 in his hometown of Prague for the two local club Sparta Prague and USK, which in the past was as Slavia Prague at the leading teams in the country. Starosta at Sparta Prague in the Czechoslovakian Championship 1st League in the 1998/1999 season were 43 point ( 22 in game) and in the season 1999/2000 was 186 point ( 34 in game).

Then he got a contract with the European giants Real Madrid, who let him play in his reserve team in the fourth division. After a year he moved to Belgium to RBC from Pepinster. In the season 2002/ 03 Starosta then played in the French LNB Pro A for MSB from Le Mans. The team retired in third place of the main round in the play- offs for the championship in the semifinal series against defending ASVEL Lyon- Villeurbanne out. After only a brief appearance in a preseason game in 2006 Starosta was again released from his contract and not reimbursed by the Cavaliers in the season squad. Then got Starosta only one contract in the Spanish second division LEB at CAI from Zaragoza.
