Title list

Content of the songs

  • One More Magic Potion (Eng. Another potion ) is of some warriors who go astray after a battle in the forest and search in a wooden house a shelter. In the house lives a witch who gives the men a potion with strong hallucinogenic effects, which puts the men in a strong noise.
  • Lady in Black is a pacifist song of the hard rock band Uriah Heep, which deals with the encounter of a man with a mysterious "Lady in Black" (woman in black). The man asks the woman for help in one, not described in detail, hard battle with a terrible opponent. The woman refuses to help him and makes him instead with peace and love familiar. His request to stay with him, she refuses, and disappears just as suddenly as they appeared.

Music style

The two songs fall out very differently. One More Magic Potion is marked by his continuous fast pace, and recalls also, according to Stefan Popp of metal1.info, the riffing strongly of Power Metal, and it still sounds very folky. The song consists solely of Screaming. A conspicuous feature of Lady in Black is especially the clock, which is held in contrast to the original, not consistently in 4/4-Schema, but in the chorus in 3/4-Schema. Otherwise, the song is based quite close to the original, ie is only clearly sung. Only towards the end of the rhythm with a consistent double bass is a bit harder.

Guest musicians

On Victory Songs played alongside the band members following a guest musician with:

  • Aleksi " Man O'War " Parviainen - Backing vocals and male vocal solo
  • Euge Valovirta - Acoustic Guitar
  • Timo Väänänen - Kantele
  • Lassi Logrén - nyckelharpa
  • Kaisa Saari - tin whistle and recorder
  • Johanna Vakkuri - Flute
  • D. P. - growls
  • Markus Austria Lund - Background vocals
  • Mikko Salovaara - background vocals

Timo Väänänen succeeded Ensiferum one of the best Kantelespieler Finland for the single and album to win. It also represents the first-time musical Contribute with a Metal Song

Criticism

The song One More Magic Potion was highly praised in many reviews and frequently turned out to be one of the highlights of Victory Songs. Substance this is partly due to the catchy melodies and the strong folk part.

The single was, unlike the previous one, often described as disappointing EP Dragon Heads, in the press, but also to the fans again very well received. In Finland, the single sold so well that she got in early March 2007 at number one on the Finnish singles chart and was able to hold a total of four weeks in the charts.
