Unsung Heroes is the fifth studio album by the Finnish metal band Ensiferum Folk-/Viking. The official release of the album by the record company Spinefarm happened on 27 August 2012.

Production

In February 2012, the band began with the studio recording their as-yet unnamed album. They also published weekly on her Facebook page and her Youtube Channel News for the production of the album. As with the previous albums they have again this time guest musicians, such as members of the band The Horsemen of the Apocalypse and the Finnish singer and actor Vesa -Matti Loiri who were involved in the production of Unsung Heroes. The artwork of the album covers comes from Kristian Wahlin.

In May, the band revealed in advance the title of the album Unsung Heroes and has given August 27, known as the release date. It was just like the previous albums, released by Spinefarm Records. They presented on July 9, the video for Burning Leaves, one of the new songs on their website.

Trivia

  • The song Pohjola should have been included on Victory Songs (2007 ), but was then drafted only fragmentary and finished writing only for Unsung Heros.
  • The band had a guest singer Laura Dziadulewicz on the Spinefarm Summer Camp met in 2011. Toivonen explained the emergence of collaboration the German Metal Hammer as follows: " One night played Laura in the middle of nature on the acoustic guitar - her voice was so beautiful I asked her immediately if she would sing a piece for us Luckily. . they promised. "
  • That Volk-Man, Ady and fox make an appearance in the song Passion Proof Power is more of a coincidence. According to Sami Hinkaa it came about because Ensiferum " for years the idea [ had ], a medieval market scenario in integrating [ their ] music. [M ] it ' Passion Proof Power' [ was ] the longest song [ its ] history before [ so that the band ] Install a break in it [ wanted ] to increase the drama. " In the course of the band, the idea came again with a " medieval market " scenario in mind, after which they turned to their management, with a request to find German speakers. Ultimately, the Horsemen of the Apocalypse have been so chosen by Spinefarm Records and not by Ensiferum. Also interesting is the fact that Fox pronounce the band name wrong. He announces the group as " Ensiferium " - ie with an additional I - to.
