Opatovice (Přerov District)

Opatovice ( German Opatowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers south Hranicky and belongs to Okres Přerov.

Geography

Opatovice extends between the Kelečská pahorkatina ( Keltscher hills ) and the Maleníkwald in the valley of the brook Opatovický creek. In the north, the Hranečníky raises the Dubová (348 m ) south of the Bozi muka (351 m ) in the southwest (333 m) and northwest of the Malenik ( 479 m).

Neighboring towns are Pod Křivým, Teplice is sought, Zbrašov and Na Kučách in the north, Černotín, Ústí, Nové Sady and Skalička in the northeast, Váňův Mlýn, Zámrsky and Horni Těšice in the east, Malhotice the southeast, Všechovice and Býškovice in the south, Horni Nětčice and Rakov in the southwest, Paršovice in the west and Valšovice in the northwest.

History

Opatovice whose local name from the Czech " Opat " ( German abbot ) is derived, was probably created in the second half of the 12th century during the colonization of the Hranicer nome by the Raigerner Benedictines. Opatowitz 1447 was first mentioned in writing in the country table, as Georg von Krawarn († 1466 ) sold the reign Helfenstein at Wok ( II ) Sovinec. In 1480 the city was designated as Opatovice and 1771 Oppatovitium. The oldest town seal dates from the year in 1766. The parish registers have been conducted since 1738 in Všechovice and from 1785 Paršovice. Until the mid- 19th century the village was always the rule Helfenstein or Leipnik submissive.

After the abolition of patrimonial Opatovice / Opatowitz formed with the district Valšovice 1850 a municipality in the district team Moravian white churches. Valšovice was umgemeindet 1868 Paršovice. In the years 1869 to 1870 was the construction of a private school. In 1870 the village had 607 inhabitants. 1871, a fire in the village 64 houses, including the new school in ruins. The volunteer fire department was formed in 1889 as the first club of the village. In 1900, 564 people lived in Opatovice, 1930 there were 658 Opatovice in 1930 it connected to the electricity grid and also in to the telephone network. In 1947 the cinema Záhoří of the match operation. After the abolition of Okres Hranice Opatovice in 1960 associated with the Okres Přerov. Between 1976 and 1990 Býškovice was the Local National Committee connected Opatovice. In 1980, 729 residents of the village. Since April 12, 1995, the municipality performs a coat of arms and banners.
