Provodovice

Provodovice ( German Prowodowitz, formerly Prowodowicz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers south-west of Kelč and belongs to Okres Přerov.

Geography

Provodovice located on the right side of a large flow loop of Juhyně on a knoll in the Kelečská pahorkatina ( Keltscher hill country). South-east rises the Straz ( 433 m). To the east lies the valley of the brook Jasenov.

Neighboring towns are Všechovice and Rouské in the north, Babice in the northeast, Lhota in the east, and Kunovice Komárno in the southeast, and Osicko Libosváry the southwest, Trávník, Příleský Mlýn, Drholec and Horni Újezd ​​in the West.

History

Provodovice formed at the beginning of the 14th century an episcopal fief, which was first mentioned in 1302 as Lehndorf the castle Šaumburk. Owner at the time was the cupbearer of the Olomouc Bishop Theodoric of Neuhaus and his predecessor Bruno of castle, Mikuláš of Šaumburk. In 1320 the village was called Prowodouicz. Later, the village of New Šaumburk was submissive. Other forms of the name were Prewodowicze ( 1377 ), Prodowicz ( 1389 ), Provodice ( 1574 ), Prowodowicz (1675 ) and Prowodowicium (1771 ).

After the abolition of patrimonial Provodovice / Prowodowitz formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Holle show. During the German occupation of the city in 1942 was assigned to the District Moravian white churches. After the end of World War II, the community came back to Okres Holešov. After its cancellation in 1960 Provodovice assigned to the Okres Přerov. From 1973 Provodovice was first connected to the Local National Committee Všechovice and incorporated since 1983 entirely by Všechovice. Since November 24, 1990 Provodovice again forms a separate municipality. Ethnographic heard the place for Hanna- region Zahorán.
