Polom (Přerov District)

Polom ( German Pohl ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located ten kilometers north east Hranicky and belongs to Okres Přerov.

Geography

Polom extends along the creek Luha in Kuhländchen. To the south vysoká raise Straz (372 m) and the same high Polomský vrch ( Pohlberg ). To the east of the site the Luha feeds the Polomer ponds with a total of 40 acres of water, of which the Horni Polom and Dolni Polom are the greatest. By Polom State Road 48 / E 462 and the railway line from Přerov after Bohumín leads ( German: Or mountain ) where the village has a train stop.

Neighboring towns are Lučice and Blahutovice in the north, Polouvsí in the northeast, Dub in the east, in the southeast Heřmanice, Hranické Loučky and spicky in the south, Kunčice in the southwest and Bělotín ( German Bölten ) in the northwest.

History

The first mention of Polom was in 1201 when Otakar I. zuwies Přemysl to above the monastery Raigern associated rule Hranice for possession disputes the Hradisko. After the devastation of the place during the Thirty Years War, the repopulation was carried out by German. The following was also the Germanized place name Pohl. In the middle of the 19th century began along the Luha the construction of the Emperor Ferdinand Northern Railway. On the section of Prerau after Odersberg the traffic was recorded on 3 April 1846.

After the abolition of patrimonial Pohl / Polom 1850 into an independent municipality in the district team Moravian white churches. 1930 had 717 inhabitants of the village. As a result of the Munich Agreement, the majority of Germans populated Pohl in 1938 was incorporated into the German Reich and belonged until 1945 to the district of New Titschein. After the expulsion of the Czech minority, the population fell in 1939 to 637 in 1945 came back to the village to Czechoslovakia. It was again part of the Okres Hranice and the Germans were expelled. In the course of municipal reform of 1960 and the dissolution of the Okres Hranice the community was to January 1, 1961 assigned to the Okres Přerov. In 1976, the annexation to Bělotín.
