Órgiva

Orgiva is a location in the Alpujarras community in the province of Granada in Spain. The central place is bustling tourist gateway to the Alpujarras and is a regional office headquarters. In the resort also is home to a large community of dropouts and hippies from England, Germany and other northern European countries.

Location

Orgiva is located at 450 m altitude on the edge of Guadalfeotals and is surrounded by the towns of Cáñar, Carataunas, Pampaneira and Lanjaron.

History

In 1569 the town was unsuccessfully besieged by rebellious Moors.
