Özkan Sümer
Özkan Sümer ( born January 20, 1937 in Trabzon ) is a former Turkish football player, coach and functionary.
Sümer began his active career at Trabzonspor. A while later he played for Kardemir Karabükspor and Sebat Gençlik. He returned to Trabzonspor and finished his career there. After his playing career Sümer worked in the youth departments of the Turkish Football Federation and Trabzonspor. In the summer of 1978, Özkan Sümer took over the first team Trabzonspor.
In the seasons 1978/79 and 1980/81 he was with Trabzonspor Turkish masters. From March 25 1981 to April 15, 1981 Sümer was coach of the Turkish national football team. Within a month, Turkey lost under his leadership two out of two games and he resigned with immediate effect. Galatasaray signed him for the 1982 season / 83. His goal was to make Galatasaray after ten years back to the Master. He failed and he was therefore canceled after one season. Sümer took over at the Trabzonspor coach position in 1984/85, 1990/91 and 1998 again, but without success. From 2000 to 2003 Özkan Sümer was president of Trabzonspor.
Since 2006 Sümer sifts young players from around Trabzon on behalf of Trabzonspor.
