Pågatågen

Pågatåg is a regional train in southern Sweden, Skåne. It is often referred to as Pendeltåg (Swedish S -Bahn ), although it has little resemblance to the S-Bahn operations in Stockholm and Gothenburg. The Pågatåg is operated by the railway company Arriva Tåg AB on behalf of Region Skåne and Skånetrafiken.

History

The first Pågatåglinie adopted on January 9, 1983 under the direction of the public transport company Länstrafiken the province Malmo longer their operation. Future

Due to the increasing age of the trains used the series X11 and the lack of equipment of trains with emergency brake, which prevents an authorization for the City Tunnel in Malmö, the operator has decided Skånetrafiken to replace the fleet of vehicles of the type Coradia LIREX Alstom, which already be called X60 used on behalf of SL in Stockholm. After the completion of the Malmö City Tunnel enlargement of Pågatågnetzes to the routes Malmö C -Trelleborg, Malmö C Staffanstorp and Malmö C Kävlinge is planned.
