Papi is a song by American singer Jennifer Lopez from her seventh album Love music? ( 2011). The Latin -based title was written by RedOne, AJ Junior, BeatGeek, Teddy Sky, Bilal Hajji and Jimmy Joker, with RedOne Jimmy Joker BeatGeak and took over the production.

The song should be released on April 19, 2011, but the song succeeded previously to the internet and thus was already 17 April 2011, published by a campaign on Lopez's Facebook page as a promo single original. Papi was praised by music critics, which the song mostly as a "highlight" of Love? designate. Some critics even think that Papi could be a similar success as their comeback single On the Floor. After its release, the song charted in several countries and reached the top ten in Finland and top 20 in Spain. Officially, the song was released 25 September 2011 as a single.

Background and composition

Papi describes Lopez's desire to dance for her husband and is a Latin and electro tracks with dance elements. The tune contains "heavy" beats and "soft" synth sounds. According to Rick Fiorino from the website Artistdirect.com the song also use elements of " progressive " house music.

This song was released in addition to I'm Into You, a collaboration with Lil Wayne, and (What Is) Love? on April 17 as the third of three promotional singles. I'm Into You was announced later as the official second single from the album. In the music video for I'm Into You can be heard in a scene just a section of Papi.

Papi was published three days before the originally planned release date because Lopez early on her Facebook page the Life for Love 'Campaign launched with which they for Love? and Papi advertised. The promo singles were released earlier because enough fans who participated in the campaign.
