Papyrus 15

(Referred to Gregory- Aland Sigel 15) Papyrus 15 is an early copy of the Greek New Testament. It is a papyrus manuscript of the first Korinterbriefes contains only the verses from 7.18 to 8.4. The style of handwriting is a documentary. Using palaeography, it has been dated to the 3rd century.

The papyrus was excavated in Oxyrhynchus and 1910 under the name of P. Oxy. VII 1008 published. Pp. 4-8. Grenfell and Hunt suggested that 15 and 16 parts of the same manuscript were. Both manuscripts have the same cast of characters, line spacing and punctuation.

The Greek text of this codex probably representative of the Alexandrian text-type, but it is too short, to be sure herein. Aland placed it in Category I.

The manuscript is currently being kept in the Egyptian Museum under the signature JE 47423 in Cairo.
