Papyrus 92

(Referred to Gregory- Aland Sigel 92) Papyrus 92 is an early copy of the Greek New Testament. Using palaeography it has been dated to the 3rd century.

Description

The manuscript dates from the Egyptian Narmouthis, now bears the name of the place Medinet Madi. The papyrus fragment of the Ephesians contains only the verses 1,11-13.19-21. Another part contains the verses 1,4-5.11-12. the second Thessalonicherbriefs. It is the earliest fragment of the 2 Thessalonicherbriefs.

The Greek text of this codex is a representative of the Alexandrian text-type. This is textually 46, Codex Sinaiticus, and Vaticanus close.

Place to keep

The manuscript is currently being kept in the Egyptian Museum under the signature P. Narmuthis 69.39a/229a in Cairo.
