Paradiso is a municipality in the district of Paradiso, in the district of Lugano in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland.

Geography

Paradiso is situated on Lake Lugano at the foot of Monte San Salvatore. The adjoining municipality Lugano flows seamlessly into this and is therefore often regarded as the district of Lugano.

History, structure and transport

Only since 1929 is called the community Paradiso, before Calprino. Until the mid-20th century Paradiso was compared to the hustle and Lugano quiet resort with its hotels located on the waterfront. Initially the town was served by the tram Lugano, which was followed by the now also set trolleybus Lugano. Meanwhile, Paradiso and Lugano are well connected by a bus service.
