Paul Kilderry

Paul Kilderry (born 11 April 1973 in Perth ) is a former Australian tennis player.

Life

Paul Kilderry could show hardly any notable successes in his career, so he specialized in the men's doubles. His first doubles title in 1996, he celebrated in Rosmalen with Pavel Vízner. They defeated Anders Järryd and Mark Knowles 7:5 and 6:3. The year before, he had lost his first ATP final at the side of Nuno Marques in Newport. Against the German duo Joern Renzenbrink and Markus Zoecke they lost 1:6 and smooth with 2:6. Also in 1996 reached Paul Kilderry the finals in Newport, this time together with Michael Tebbutt. The final ended with 7:6, 4:6 and 4:6 in favor of their South African opponents Marius Barnard and Piet Norval. In the following season he won with Nicolas Lapentti the final in Amsterdam on sand against Andrew Kratzmann and Libor Pimek 3:6, 7:5 and 7:6. His last title he won in 2000 with Sandon Stolle in Los Angeles. They benefited from the noncombat mission of their final opponents Jan- Michael Gambill and Scott Humphries. After the U.S. Open 2001, he finished his career. The highest quotation in the tennis world ranking reached Paul Kilderry 1995 position 138 in single and in 1996 with position 67 in doubles.

In individual he reached the second round at the Grand Slam tournaments in 1993 at Wimbledon. In the doubles competition in 1994 he was able to move each in the second round of the Australian Open and the French Open. In the mixed competition reaching the quarter- finals of the U.S. Open was his best result in 1996.
