Pekka Tuokkola

Pekka Tuokkola ( born October 22, 1983 in Alavus ) is a Finnish professional ice hockey goaltender who stands in January 2014 Färjestad BK Svenska Hockey ligands under contract.

Career

Pekka Tuokkola began his career as a hockey player in the junior department of Tappara Tampere, in which he from the U16 all ages through delivery. For the professional team of Tappara the goalkeeper of 2004 came to a total of four inserts in the SM- liiga to 2006. He was also active in his time at Tappara as Players out on loan for Ahmat Hyvinkää Hokki Kajaani, Kiekko -Vantaa and Haukat in the subprime Mestis.

For the 2006/07 season he signed a contract with JYP Jyväskylä. His greatest success with JYP Jyväskylä was the surprising winning the Finnish Championship title in the 2008 /09 season, which meant the biggest success in club history for JYP. This season is Tuokkola told the court in the port of JYP along with his compatriot Sinuhe Wallinheimo. In the main round he had a Gegentorschnitt of 1.96 per game and a catch quota of 92.6 percent for its 27 missions. In the playoffs, he could even increase to a catch quota of 95.4 percent and reduce its Gegentorschnitt at 1:19 Goals against per game. Due to these achievements he received together with Wallinheimo then the Jari Kurri trophy - as Most Valuable Player of the SM - liiga playoffs. In the following season he was able to convince, and had 2.08 goals against per game Gegentorschnitt the lowest of all the SM- liiga Torwärte in the main round on. Also during his time with JYP, he continued to play occasionally in the second division, where he worked for SaPKo Savonlinna and the D team - aground - the farm team of JYP.

In April 2011, he was taken from Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod of the Kontinental Hockey League contract and completed in the following season KHL 21 appearances for Torpedo, before he returned to Finland in May 2012 and was obliged by his hometown club Tappara. In Tappara he was the back-up of Juha Metsola few missions, so he was loaned in November 2012 to LeKi and delivered to KalPa Kuopio in January 2013.

In January 2014 Tuokkola joined the Swedish club Färjestad BK in the Svenska Hockey ligands.

Internationally

For Finland was Tuokkola so far only in 2010 in a game of Euro Hockey Tour between the posts.
