Perth Airport ( engl. PER, Perth International Airport ) is an international commercial airport in the city of Perth in Australia. Located to the southeast of the district Guildford and is the busiest airport in Western Australia. For international standards, the airport is only medium in size, but thanks to its position plays a strategically important role as a hub for many destinations in Australia, Asia, Africa and the Pacific.

Overview

The airfield was established in 1944 as Guildford Aerodrome. In 1952, he was renamed Perth International Airport.

According to ASN several accidents are known in the vicinity of the airport. On April 19, 1945 Douglas R4D -5 crashed one of the U.S. Navy near the airport. In this case, all 13 occupants were killed.
