Pete Conacher

Pete William Conacher ( born July 29, 1932 in Toronto, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who played in his playing days from 1949 to 1966 among others for the Chicago Blackhawks, New York Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League.

Career

Pete Conacher began his career as a hockey player in the Junior League of the Ontario Hockey Association, in which he was active for the Galt Red Wings Galt and Blackhawks from 1949 to 1952. Towards the end of the season 1951/52, the attacker was his debut for the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League, where he prepared a goal in two games. In the following two years he was a regular for the Blackhawks, was parallel but also to 29 inserts for their farm team St. Louis Flyers of the American Hockey League, scoring 28 points scorer, twelve gates. After he started the season in 1954/55 for the Chicago Blackhawks, he was issued on November 23, 1954 along with Bill Gadsby in exchange for Rich Lamoureux, Allan Stanley and Nick Mickoski to the New York Rangers. In these he spent the next year and a half also a regular in the NHL.

From 1956 to 1958 Conacher played mainly for the Buffalo Bisons in the AHL, was in the season in 1957/58 but also in five games for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the NHL, whereby he prepared a goal. In the season 1958/59 the links contactors for Belleville McFarland's standing in the Amateur League Ontario Hockey Association on the ice. He then spent another year at the Buffalo Bisons in the AHL. From 1960 to 1966 he was one of the leading players in the Hershey Bears in the AHL. He then finished his career at the age of 34 years.

Internationally

For Canada Conacher took part in the World Cup 1959. In eight games, he scored seven goals and gave it three assists.

Pete Conacher comes from a family with many years of hockey tradition. His father Charlie Conacher and his uncle Lionel Conacher and Roy Conacher were equally professional ice hockey player like his cousin Brian Conacher.
