Peter Mokrosinski

Piotr "Peter" Mokrosiński ( born 2 May 1953 in Łódź, Poland) is a Polish cinematographer, film director and screenwriter.

Life

Although Peter Mokrosiński was born in Łódź, he grew up in Askim, near Oslo, where his family to his grandfather already had a bus station and a sawmill. Mid -1950s, acquired Mokrosińskis father a grocery store. After the business went bust in the mid- 1970s through the competition with larger supermarkets, the family moved to Sarpsborg, where his father took a job in Borgarsyssel Museum. During his school years Mokrosiński was both involved in left -wing groups as also engaged in the production of dramas. Therefore, he tried in 1979 on Gol 's County College as a playwright, before emigrating to Australia for half a year in order to accelerate the journey to become a cameraman. From there it went from 1982 to New York City where he studied at the International Center of Photography. This he could afford from his savings, which he during his two years he worked as a postman in Oslo, accumulated.

After he learned his craft under filmmakers such as Robert Frank, Jack Sal and Eileen Berger, Mokrosiński published in 1983 with Luciana 's morning his first film. With the legacy of his late father a year later, he realized the short film Nora's hemmlighet and went back to Norway, where he studied theater. Then he wanted to study film at New York University, but since his employment records from Norway arrived too late, he had to reorient, and was Institute in Stockholm adopted for the study program director in the drama, where he from January 1986 lecturers such as Ingmar Bergman, Bo Widerberg and Mai Zetterling studied. Already with his graduation film Huset he was awarded at the International Festival of Film Schools in Munich with the grand prize. Although raised in Norway and joined by his studies with New York, remained Mokrosiński, mainly as a cameraman, the Swedish film and was like Beck for movies: The Man on the Balcony, Stray Dogs, Leva livet and damnation four other nominations the Guldbagge and for Evil received his second award for Best Cinematography.
