Phylicia Rashad ( born June 19, 1948 in Houston, Texas, as Phylicia Ayers -Allen ) is an American actress and singer. In German-speaking countries was especially known for her role as Claire Huxtable Olivia in the U.S. sitcom The Cosby Show.
Music
Under the name Phylicia Allen brought on Neil Bogart's Casablanca Records label in 1978, the album Josephine Superstar out, a tribute album for Josephine Baker. On this album they coverte including the hit J'ai deux amours of Josephine Baker ( Two Loves Have I) in disco sound of the late 1970s.
Private
From 1972 to 1975 she was married to William Lancelot Bowles Jr.. In 1973 their son Billy Bowles to the world. 1978 married Rashad Victor Willis, a member of the then successful music group The Village People. Because Willis ' drug problems, the marriage was divorced in 1980. From 1985 to 2001 she was with Ahmad Rashad ( played Larry Braddock in " Space Jam " ) married, which made her live during the halftime of a football game on TV a marriage proposal. 1986 daughter Condola Phylea Rashad was born.
